Gudele

Gudele is one of our project sites in Central Equatoria State.
After few months of completion of this house, I returned again this particular house to see the situation now.
And I found the owner of the house developed her garden with beautiful plantation and decorated her house very nicely. After 20 years of life in Khartoum, where she fled from war, now she nailed her life on her small plot in Juba. She grows small portion of vegetable to support herself.

This made my day!!

Today, there was the final movement of returnees from transit site in Juba to their newly provided land in outskirt of Juba. It was really nice to see people's happy face on the new land which became "their own land"!

Surprisingly, we have several nice Chinese restaurants in Juba which save our Asian's life in Juba!

Girls' Brunch at Jabel Lodge

Today, we organized girls' brunch!
More than expected number of Japanese girls got together from Juba, Kapoeta, Nairobi & Tokyo.

It always encourages me to meet active Japanese ladies everywhere I go! Energy recharged ;-)

European Film Festival in Juba!

European Film Festival was started in Juba yesterday!
The opening movie was very funny French comedy "The Untouchable".

High Commissioner in South Sudan

Until today, High Commissioner have been visiting South Sudan for 3 days. There was a BBC live broadcasting from volleyball court of our residential compound last night.

Surprise Gift

When I came back from my break, I found a surprise gift on my desk!
It was from a Japanese colleague from PKO mission who worked together for dormitory construction at our way station.

It was so lovely to find someone's warmth on a desk.

After a mission to Bentiu, I have been on 2 weeks break.
First, I was in Shanghai, China to enjoy nice Chinese foods! including Shanghai crab which is now in right seasons!!

Being Japanese in China at this moment - many people worried about us, but in the reality, Chinese people were kind to us, even they are aware that we are from small island over the sea...
